EXPERIENCED CLIMBER AGED 14-17

There are 2 options for climbing at Onyx if you are an experienced and competent climber*:

You can climb as a guest and be signed in and supervised by a climber, aged 18+, who is already registered at Onyx.

You can climb unsupervised once you have completed the process below. Please note that this is a slightly different process based on your age.

*Competent means you have ample experience of using indoor bouldering walls and understand how to use such facilities in a safe and proficient manner.

Climbing as a Guest

If you have a friend aged 18+ who is already registered at Onyx then they can sign you in as a guest. This means they will be responsible for looking after you.

If they have a Membership they might even be able to get you in free (first visit only).

Each registered climber aged 18+ can sign in a maximum of 2 guests.

Unsupervised
Aged 14-15

You must show your understanding of bouldering safely by completing a Youth Assessment form on a few basic safety questions. This will be carried out on your arrival.
If you pass the assessment then your parent or guardian must give their permission for you to climb unsupervised. To do this they MUST be present at the centre for your first visit and fill out your registration form.

Unsupervised
Aged 16-17

You must show your understanding of bouldering safely by completing a Youth Assessment form on a few basic safety questions. This will be carried out on your arrival.
If you pass the assessment then your parent or guardian must give their permission for you to climb unsupervised. To do this they do not need to be present at the centre but they MUST fill out your registration form, which they can do online.
